Emergency shelter now available in geauga county

Geauga Faith Rescue Mission celebrated the opening of their Men's Emergency shelter this past November with a Ribbon-Cutting ceremony with a great-turn out.

GFRM's shelter is Geauga county's very first emergency homeless shelter available to the community.
Their men's shelter can house up to 8, and they are planning on opening a women's shelter in the future.

GFRM provides safe housing to homeless men and women primarily located in Geauga County with their emergency shelter and through their voucher program. Their program provides a solution to the gap of needed services for homeless in Geauga County and throughout the state which has enabled them to help house over 100 guests since opening.

Nathan Long, executive Director, has in the past spoken about the homeless population being not easily identifiable because they might be in other cities, working, or trying to get shelter. Having a local place to stay can provide stability for someone while they find a more permanent place to stay, and they are hoping GFRM will be that place.

Northeast Ohio gets really low temperatures and saw a low of -5 degrees on December 10th. The idea that anyone could have been out there in -5 degrees, with no shelter is heartbreaking. GFRM is working diligently to get people warm and safe while also helping their guests find stability.

I feel this might go over a little better than asking our employees for monetary donations.

Why you said you shelter people when it's cold I know two guys are living in their car and somewhere around and Jordan and it's cold outside I know. Cuz I used to live in Ohio and I talk to people that live in Ohio so why can't you give them shelter.
