Women's Shelter
Geauga Faith Rescue Mission seeks to open a women’s Rescue Mission to help meet the physical and spiritual needs of homeless single women. GFRM aims to provide emergency support for basic needs, spiritual support, and accountability for single women in Geauga County who are experiencing homelessness. A suitable home that can house up to four women has become available in Chardon at 241 Washington Street, however GFRM must request a zoning variance to use the house for this purpose.
Geauga Faith Rescue Mission will be going before the Chardon Zoning department soon for an informal hearing. The purpose of this hearing is to ensure that GFRM is prepared to make the official filing for a zoning variance. Please note, there will be no zoning decision made at the informal hearing. The public is invited to attend.
Geauga Faith Rescue Mission has been providing immediate assistance in times of crisis for those suffering with homelessness in Geauga County since 2015. GFRM opened its Men’s Mission on December 5, 2022 to provide services such as case management, biblical study and prayer, referrals to community agencies, and job placement support. GFRM aspires to cultivate a sense of community dedicated to helping the homeless by sharing the Gospel and the Freedom found in Jesus Christ.
